Nazarene

The significance of the moniker Nazarene, which was used to describe both Jesus and some of his early Jewish followers, is that it denotes a complete outsider. Someone from the back of beyond, out on the margins, completely removed from, and nonviolently opposed to, social and religious elites whenever and wherever they occur.
