Holy Fools

Holy Fools are found is every religious tradition and usually refers to behavior such as giving up all one’s worldly possessions and deliberately flouting society’s conventions to serve a higher spiritual purpose. Most mystics follow this path. Early Christian examples include the Desert Mothers & Fathers. Some scholars consider St Paul and Jesus of Nazareth as exemplars of this tradition.
